Shipping Our Handmade Chocolates

Chocolate is a perishable item and requires proper care.
We use United States Priority Mail as our preferred shipping method which takes 2-3 days to arrive. There are occasional delays due to Post Office holidays and inclement weather. Our packages are assigned a tracking number to assure proper delivery.
We strongly recommend that someone be present to receive them when they arrive. Chocolate left outside your home all day may be damaged by weather that is too hot, rainy or humid. It is best to let a gift recipient know that they are on their way. Consider shipping to your workplace. LaFontain Confections cannot be responsible for damage if you (or the recipient of a gift) are not present at time of delivery and the damage occurs as a result of the delay in claiming the package.
Warm Weather Shipping
Quality chocolates must be protected from high temperatures. During months when the average high temperature of either NY or the state where your order is shipped exceeds 70° F, we automatically use insulated ice packed shipping containers.
To further assure quality and safe transit our standard shipping schedule is Monday thru Wednesday to avoid having the chocolate sit in a warehouse or truck.
